Arcticbreeze Evening Mist

AM CH CATERA'S JUST SHOWIN OFF X KOLDSNAP STORMY BLUE AT ARCTICBREEZE

What can we say about Misty, one word to describe her would be FUN. She is the household entertainment.  Living life to the full at ninety miles an hour, but not in the most co coordinated way. Into everything like a flash, nothing is safe. You really can’t turn your back on her for a minute.

Misty is litter sister to Mikey and although we never planned to keep a Seal & White from this litter we just couldn’t part with Misty and whilst in the litter box she was nicknamed ‘Pick Me’ because she would look at you in such a way you would melt. Misty has the most fantastic temperament and is full of personality; She is very vocal having inherited this from her mum & Grandma.

She has done us proud in the shows this winning many first prizes often coming head to head with Mikey for Best Puppy, She pipped him at the post at Three Counties. She has had some lovely write-ups and got 6th place in the Top puppy Awards with the Alaskan Malamute Club 2008. We were thrilled when she received Best Opposite Sex in Breed at only 20 months of age.

Misty’s mischievous ways put her out of the show ring for most of 2009 & 2010. Spring of 2010 Misty had a romance with Nero  (Vvanilla Snoman Del Biagio at Wintadreama) and this resulted in 10 puppies bouncing into the world in June. We will be forever in the debt of Sarah & Neil at Wintadreama for allowing us to use Nero, the litter was more than we could have wished for.

2011 saw Misty back in the ring after almost two years. We were delighted with the many wins and placing she received. However on the trails is where Misty really shines, she has just completed her third season in harness and had not been out of the top three placing’s for an all malamute team during this time, She now competes where possible in a four dog team with Brother Mikey and Kids Sid & Echo.

We were over the moon when Misty won the Alaskan Malamute Working Bitch of the Year 2010 awards and Runner up in 2009 She works with litter brother Mikey, who have also been the fastest all Malamute two dog team in 2009 & 2010 at Aviemore. Winning the BSHRA championship for the Malamute class for 2009/ 2010 against some incredible competition was also a highlight and a very proud moment for us.

What the judges had to say.....

3rd RCC
Leeds CH Show 2014 "Really strong bitch yet still feminine. Such an easy mover with a lengthy stride. Has a good head with width of skull & strength of muzzle. Well set ears. Enough neck. Fair front with nice size feet. Liked her length of body, rib & loin. Topline could slope slightly more. Super tail. Enough hind angulation & it is in perfect balance to front." - Judge Mr J Horswell

2nd CC
Scottish Kennel Club August 2014 "A substantial girl, built for the job in every way. Very pretty and well balanced head, though eye could be a tad darker. She is carrying a full, thick, quality coat which makes her look a little heavy, but this is most certainly not the case. Of particularly good breed type, she is so well balanced in profile with the correct topline chest and loin, neck balances nicely. Very well constructed front and rear. Her power on the move is superb driving through with strong hocks and reaching well in front. It was this which clinched the CC. Well done."  - Judge Mrs L Bolton

1st CC
East Of England CH Show 2014 "This bitch is very much an Alaskan Malamute, she remains feminine but is strong, with good bone and is the right size and shape to haul a heavy load all day. She has an excellent head and expression and very good feet too. "  - Judge Mr D Cavill

1st RCC
Driffield CH Show 2009 "Very good type with strength yet still feminine in appearance, well made head, dark eyes & well set small ears, good length of neck into well laid shoulders & front assembly, well boned legs & large tight feet, good spring of ribs with deep chest & strong topline that holds at all times, well muscled rearquarters, tail set on correctly & carried well, in good coat & condition." - Mr Richard Kinsly
